Ad Compliance
Definition
Ad compliance is the practice of reviewing ad copy, creative, and landing pages against each platform's advertising policies before submission. Platforms maintain their own restricted terms and claim categories, and regulated verticals — supplements, health, finance, legal — face a higher review bar and harsher penalties for violations.
Why it matters
Rejected ads cost launch time, and repeated violations escalate to ad account restrictions or suspension. Checking language before submission is cheaper than recovering an account.
Practical example
Before launching a supplement campaign, a team scans the copy for medical-claim and personal-attribute patterns that platform policies restrict, and rewrites flagged lines.
